C Cause and Effects of Human-Wildlife Conflict in Ethiopia: A Review

Girma Gizachew

International Journal of Emerging Trends in Science and Technology, 2021, 30 December 2021

In Ethiopia, human-wildlife conflict (HWC) is on the rise. Humans and wildlife are vying for limited natural resources. The goal of this review is to accumulate a vast amount of information on the causes and effects of HWC, including conflict resolution efforts around the country. Kinds of literature and peer-reviewed papers were used. Human population expansion, forest degradation, habitat destruction, and disturbance in or near wildlife-inhabiting regions are some of the essential determinants of HWC. Crop raiding, livestock depredation, and predation on managed wild animal species are all regular HWC concerns. Crop damage is the most common form of HWC. Despite crop loss and wildlife predation, they faced a food crisis in the same region. As a result of these instances, the country loses more money. Cercopithecus aethiops, Papio Anubis, Panthera Leo, Hippopotamus amphibious, and Crocuta crocuta are just a few of the animals who have taken part in the HWC and influenced the economy. The review indicates that most researches have been focused on a certain area or animal species, and data was dispersed. Because HWC is a new threat to wildlife conservation, there are knowledge gaps that will require more research to demonstrate practical consequences. As a result, this data is vital in supporting policymakers and conservationists in formulating land use plan strategies to reduce HWC in Ethiopia, as well as developing successful and replicable wildlife education and training activities

The Role of Organizational Emotions in Strategic Leadership

Sudirman

International Journal of Emerging Trends in Science and Technology, 2021, 30 December 2021

Emotions are human thing. When people considering emotions from a strategic leadership point of view, additional individual framing factors become unavoidable and play a role in an organization management process. The aim of this paper was to explore the existing literature on emotion and strategic leadership in a systematic review. The paper was a literature review on emotion in connection to strategic leadership. The method used was search and exclusion criteria, so it made 24 relevant articles left. The texts were analyzed according to the grounded theory method to generate a new theoretical model and identified core variables of organizational emotion shapping. The model attempted to show how the interaction of individual and organizational factors with strategic leader’s task and challenges lead to emotion shapping internal and external of the organization. This literature review and theoretical integration offered a starting point for potential areas for further exploration.

The Role of Biodiversity in Disease Regulation as Function of Ecosystem Service Systematic Review

Biodiversity, ecosystems, and the important services they provide are fundamental to all life on Earth,
including human life. Food and critical nutrients, pharmaceutical chemicals, fuel, energy, livelihoods,
and cultural and spiritual enrichment are all available from them. They also contribute to the provision
of safe drinking water and clean air, as well as important services ranging from pest and disease control
to climate change and natural disasters. Each of these functions has direct and indirect implications for
our health and well-being, and each is a critical piece of the epidemiological puzzle that we face in our
attempts to combat infectious and noncommunicable diseases. The inextricable relationships between
biodiversity, ecosystems, and the supply of these advantages, as well as human health, are wellestablished.
Biodiversity is appreciated, maintained, restored, and properly employed in order to maintain
ecosystem functions, maintain a healthy world, and provide benefits to all people. The World Health
Organization is aware of the mounting evidence that biodiversity loss is occurring at unprecedented
rates. There is a growing awareness that this poses a serious threat to the healthy and stable ecosystems
that support all elements of our societies. Biodiversity loss can destabilize ecosystems, cause infectious
disease epidemics, and jeopardize development, food security, and natural catastrophe protection. Protecting
the public's health from these threats falls outside of the health sector's usual responsibilities. It is
based on collaborating with partners who are involved in conservation, as well as the responsible use
and management of natural resources.
